Refund and Cancellation Policy — Strathdon Manor Media

Last updated: July 2026 — Strathdon Manor Media (Pty) Ltd

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled for service engagements and for any direct payments made through strathdonmedia.com. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Service Engagements

Most of our work is engaged under a signed service agreement or statement of work, which sets out the specific cancellation and refund terms for that engagement. In the absence of more specific terms in that agreement, the following applies:

  • Deposits paid to secure a project slot or commence work are non-refundable once work has begun, but will be credited against the final invoice.
  • For ongoing retainers, either party may cancel with 30 days’ written notice; fees for work already performed, and for the notice period, remain payable.
  • Where an engagement is cancelled before any work has commenced, any deposit paid will be refunded in full, less any costs we have already reasonably and demonstrably incurred on your behalf.
2. Forge Suite Software Purchases (via Paddle and Lemon Squeezy)

All Forge Suite purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”) or Lemon Squeezy, LLC (“Lemon Squeezy”), who act as the authorised reseller of record for the transactions they process for these products. This means your purchase is covered by that reseller’s own refund policy, and refund requests for Forge Suite purchases are handled directly through them, not through Strathdon Manor Media:

  • Paddle’s refund policy: paddle.com/legal/refund-policy
  • Lemon Squeezy’s refund policy: lemonsqueezy.com/refund-policy (please confirm the current link, as reseller policies are updated from time to time)

Your order confirmation and receipt email will show whether Paddle or Lemon Squeezy processed your purchase — refer to that when raising a refund request with them.

Depending on where you are in the world, you may have a statutory right to a refund on a digital purchase. As a general guide only — please confirm your specific rights with the reseller, as these vary and can change — customers in the EU, EEA, Switzerland, and United Kingdom typically have a 14-day right to withdraw from a digital purchase; customers in Turkey, Israel, South Korea, Brazil, China, and Canada typically have a 7-day right to cancel; customers in Singapore typically have a 5-day right. These statutory rights apply automatically and cannot be waived, though in the EU and UK the right to withdraw does not usually apply once digital content has been downloaded or used, where you gave express consent to waive that right at the point of purchase.

Outside of statutory rights, Paddle and Lemon Squeezy may also offer discretionary refunds for requests submitted within 14 days of purchase; these are reviewed case by case and are not guaranteed.

If you experience a technical problem or believe a Forge Suite application has a material defect that prevents it from working as described, please contact us first at forge@strathdonmedia.com so we can try to resolve the issue directly. If we’re unable to, you can escalate to Paddle’s or Lemon Squeezy’s support team (as applicable), with details of the problem and our response.

3. Other Direct Online Payments

This section covers payments made directly to Strathdon Manor Media through this website — for example, a service deposit — as distinct from Forge Suite purchases, which are covered by section 2 above. Where you make such a payment and you are a consumer as defined under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”), you may have a statutory right to cancel the transaction within 7 (seven) calendar days of the date of the transaction, or of receiving the goods (if later), without reason or penalty, other than a reasonable charge for any service already rendered with your consent during that period.

This cooling-off right does not apply to:

  • Services that have been fully performed before the cooling-off period expires, with your express consent.
  • Digital content or resources that have already been accessed or downloaded.
  • Any engagement governed by a separate signed service agreement specifying its own cancellation terms, as set out in section 1 above.

To cancel within the cooling-off period, contact us using the details in section 5 below, referencing your payment date and invoice or reference number.

4. How Refunds Are Paid

For payments covered by section 3, approved refunds are paid back to the original payment method used, generally within 14 business days of approval. Refunds for Forge Suite purchases (section 2) are paid by Paddle or Lemon Squeezy directly, according to their own timelines.
